Southwest Bike Path Resurfacing

Beginning 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, contractors will close the Southwest Commuter Path at two separate sections for path resurfacing:
Odana Road to Glenway Street
Commonwealth Avenue to Prospect Avenue
Signed detours will be in place for each closed section.
The closure of the Southwest path will remain in place at all times until approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10.
In addition, the path connections located at S Prospect Avenue and at Harrison Street will be resurfaced. The closure of the connections will occur July 10 - July 16.
The Southwest Path will be resurfaced in various locations in 2020. As part of the project, limestone screenings will also be installed along the path shoulders to replace previously eroded materials.

- Commonwealth Avenue to South Prospect Avenue
The connector ramps at South Prospect Avenue and Harrison Street will also be resurfaced as part of the project.
The contractor for this project will have a flexible schedule that will allow them to perform the work between the beginning of May and the beginning of September. Whenever a section of the path is closed for resurfacing, it will be for a maximum of 5 days and signs notifying closure of the path will be placed a minimum of 14 days in advance of work beginning.
