Project Overview

Installation of a roughly 110 kW solar photovoltaic system at the storm water retention pond on Royster Oaks Drive. The system will be ground mounted modules and will produce an estimated 140,000 kWh per year. The solar array’s production will be used by Pinney Library and provide roughly 50% of the building’s annual electricity consumption. The array will be installed by the Engineering Division’s GreenPower program where trainees with little to no electrical skills are provide on-the-job training through solar installations on City buildings.
