Far West Public Works Facility
The proposed Far West Public Works Facility will enable agencies to efficiently provide city services to residents of the far west side, which is one of the fastest growing areas of the City. The primary functions of the facility will be to store vehicles and equipment for the Streets, Parks, and serve as a base of operations for Streets and Parks crews and administration staff. Fleet Services will also have a presence onsite, providing maintenance and minor repairs of City vehicles. Other functions external to the building are planned to include a waste drop-off site, fueling station, material storage, and publicly accessible walking paths.
The City has completed the Phase 1, and presented the master plan to the Urban Design Commission at the July 1, 2020 meeting.
Phase 2A is in design, and consists of a fueling depot and truck scale.
Phase 2B will include the vehicle storage and administration building, waste drop-off site, and salt storage building.
