Project Update

Reconstruction of Hegg Ave and Major Ave were completed in 2018 and are not included in the 2019 project. Updates below relate to the 2019 continued reconstruction of Drexel Ave, Davidson Street, and Lake Edge Blvd.

Project Description

The proposed project will reconstruct portions of Davidson Street, Lake Edge Blvd, and Drexel Avenue and replace the water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer within the project limits.  The existing public utilities were constructed in the early 1950’s and are reaching the end of their useful life.  The existing sanitary sewer main will be replaced with a new 8” PVC pipe and the sanitary laterals will be replaced from the new main to the property line for each house.  The existing water main will be replaced with a new 8” ductile iron water main.  The storm sewer system will be upgraded with new concrete pipe installed to provide increased capacity and better storm water drainage for the new streets.  The street are proposed to be reconstructed with new asphalt pavement and concrete curb & gutter.  The street widths are proposed to be; 30 feet wide on Davidson Street, 28 feet wide on Drexel Avenue, 38 feet wide in the 400 block of Lake Edge Blvd and 19 feet wide in each direction in the 300 block of Lake Edge Blvd.

Project Limits

Davidson St - Drexel Ave to Maher Ave
Drexel Ave - Davidson St to Lake Edge Blvd.
Lake Edge Blvd - Major Ave to Maher Ave

Project Schedule

Preliminary start will be in July of 2019. The project will take approximately three months to complete.
