City of Madison Department of Civil Rights (DCR) Director Norman Davis announced today that Felicia Jones has joined the Department of Civil Rights as Affirmative Action Division Manager.

Ms. Jones comes to the City from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, having worked as a Contracts Specialist and an Equal Opportunity Specialist since 2007. She has also served on the Executive Board of the Madison Black Chamber of Commerce.

Her areas of work have included: ensuring compliance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, educating and training on business development, processing construction contracts to ensure federal/state requirements are met, reviewing disadvantaged business certifications, communicating AA/EEO policies, conducting EEO reviews and investigating contractor good faith efforts.

"I am excited to have Felicia on board with the Department of Civil Rights," said DCR Director Norman Davis. "Her combined experience in business development, construction contracting, and regulatory compliance will be an excellent asset to the City."

Her first day at the Department of Civil Rights was February 20.
