Madison Public Library invites families to our Eastside Playdate, a pop-up educational fair celebrating early literacy and sharing fun, creative, low-cost (or darn near free) ways for parents and caregivers to create their own educational toys and games to support their children’s development.

In the event of rain, the Playdate will take place at Pinney Library.

Early literacy activities are key for preparing kids for kindergarten and providing essential tools for speech, cognitive, and social development. The hands-on play demonstrations and activities are targeted for preschoolers. Library staff will also offer summer reading sign-ups, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten registration, and library card sign-ups for folks of all ages. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten registrants will receive a free book and tote bag while supplies last.
The Playdate will also feature an interactive video booth to create fun, interactive opportunities for people of all ages to participate in Tell Us/Cuéntenos, the Library’s public input phase of its planning process. The feedback will help Madison Public Library plan its expansion of eastside services and facilities.
