What are critters doing in winter? Learn about different ways animals (and plants) deal with the cold, including living under the snow! See Winter Hibernation and Survival for fun facts. Take a walk on your own to look for tracks and signs of life beneath the snow! Try using a guidebook or app such as Critter Trax to identify tracks you see. Bring binoculars or a camera if you have one.
Outings in the Starkweather Creek area vary each month - be sure to check the starting location. Outings include nature walks, canoe/kayak adventures, bicycling tours and more, and are sponsored by the Madison Friends of Urban Nature, Madison Parks, Goodman Community Center, Madison Audubon Society, and Friends of Starkweather Creek. No registration required. No pets are allowed.
