What is an Oak Savanna? with Jeff Steele ~ Join Master Naturalist Jeff Steele at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center and explore easy hiking trails through the historic oak openings at Edna Taylor Conservation Park.  Oak savannas were the predominate landscape in southern Wisconsin history.  Learn how this occurred and changed over time, why these oak ecosystems are important, and how they are being restored.

Join a naturalist for an easy family-friendly walk from Aldo Leopold Nature Center into beautiful Edna Taylor Conservation Park and enjoy a bit of nature education along the way. Co-sponsored by Madison Parks, Madison Audubon Society, and Aldo Leopold Nature Center.
Walks through the Edna Taylor Conservation Park are held on the 4th Saturday, 10-11:30am of each month and begin at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, 330 Femrite Drive. Free nature outing, no pets, no registration required.
